Al Hawari - Benghazi plants

The plant has been developed over the years, with the first production line launched in 1968 with a production capacity of 100,000 tons per year to 1 mtons per year. In 1974, a third production line was added with a production capacity of 400 ktons per year

The following year, two new production lines were added in 1974 and 1976 with a production capacity of 400 ktons annually and in 1978 two production lines were added with a capacity of 1 mtons annually under the name of Al-Hawari plant

In 2010, the third production line was modernized to reach a production capacity of 500 ktons per year, an increase of 100 ktons per year. The plant is currently considered one of the most important Libyan plant in the cement industry, as it represents about 20% of the national cement production and provides job positions for more than 1,000 employees

Expansion plan

The Libyan Cement Company is working on expanding the production capacity of the Benghazi and Al-Hawari plants by revamping production lines and upgrading the technologies used in the production process

This is expected to increase production capacity, improve quality and meet the local market’s cement needs
