This policy aims to raise safety and health standards at the Libyan Cement Company by recognizing its responsibilities related to health and safety, as well as providing a safe and healthy working environment “to the extent practicable” for all its employees, contractors and visitors within its facilities

Company responsibilities

Protect the health, safety, and well-being of all employees and others who may be affected by the company’s operations

Provide safe and hazard-free workplaces

Ensure the safety of machinery by implementing safe work systems and ensuring their compliance

Ensure the safe handling, storage and use of materials

Provide employees, contractors, and visitors with the necessary information, education, training, and supervision for their health and safety

Employee and user responsibilities

Ensure their personal health and safety, as well as the safety of others in the workplace

Comply with safety and health procedures to ensure a safe environment, avoiding harm to themselves, others and damage to the factory or equipment

Avoid misuse or interference with health and safety provisions, including isolating or covering electrical matters, and more

Adhere to all guidelines for safe working procedures, wear personal protective equipment and comply with management’s instructions in this regard

Provide reports and report any issues that may lead to injuries or accidents (including near misses) or hazardous incidents at work

Participate in health and safety training courses organized by the company

Avoid working and report anyone who may be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol

Visitor and contractor responsibilities

Visitors and contractor employees must adhere to all health and safety procedures established by the company’s health and safety management

Visitors and contractors should report any concerns related to their safety or suspected unsafe work practices to the company’s health and safety representative

Attendance in safety awareness courses for any contracting company, as well as compliance with general safety rules and procedures to ensure their safety
